Zelenskyy Demands Intensifying U.S. Weapons Deliveries
“Today, I instructed the Minister of Defense and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to intensify all contacts with the American side. We now have the necessary political statements and decisions, and we need to implement them as soon as possible to protect our people, to protect our positions,” Zelenskyy said in a public address.
Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, Zelenskyy described the incoming equipment as “critical” to safeguarding both civilians and frontline areas. He noted that he expects concrete progress “in the near future” and revealed that preparations are underway for new high-level meetings between Ukrainian and U.S. defense and political officials later this week.
During the latest military briefing, Ukrainian commanders analyzed recent strikes on Russian territory and examined operations targeting Russian supply lines—particularly those situated at “vulnerable places that exist in Russia.”
On the humanitarian side, Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine is working to carry out agreements made during a second round of talks in Türkiye focused on prisoner swaps.
“We are trying to free as many of our people as possible from Russian captivity,” he further noted.
As Russian aerial assaults intensify, Ukraine continues to prioritize the reinforcement of its air defense network. Officials are depending on ongoing support from the U.S., with discussions actively progressing around joint weapons production and faster acquisition timelines.
