Bangladesh, Turkey to enhance bilateral relations in defense sector
At the State Guest House in Dhaka, Gorgun and his team held talks with Yunus, focusing on shared interests. Prior to this, Gorgun met with Bangladesh’s army chief, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, and Navy chief, Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan.
The discussions with the army chief centered on expanding the existing defense partnership, with Gorgun pledging “cooperation and support” to advance Bangladesh’s defense industry. General Zaman expressed a strong interest in collaborating closely with Türkiye to produce “various modern military equipment and develop defense technologies” domestically.
Meanwhile, the meeting with the naval commander covered exchanges of expertise related to naval platforms, advanced combat systems, and defense technologies, as highlighted in a statement shared by the Turkish Embassy in Bangladesh.
