Xi Praises Loyalty of Armed Forces Amid Military Probe

(MENAFN) China’s President Xi Jinping commended the “loyalty” of the nation’s armed forces, particularly among lower-ranking personnel, on Tuesday amid an ongoing probe into senior military leaders.

Xi made the remarks while inspecting the military’s combat readiness and current operations, according to reports. Via video link from Beijing, he also extended greetings to service members in celebration of the Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year.

Describing the past year as “highly unusual and extraordinary,” Xi highlighted the army’s rigorous political rectification efforts, noting that it has “effectively addressed various risks and challenges, and undergone ‘a revolutionary tempering’ in the fight against corruption.”

“Officers and soldiers across the armed forces, especially those at the grassroots level, have been loyal to the Party, faithfully fulfilled their duties, and proven themselves capable and dependable,” Xi said.

He further praised the military tradition of “maintaining combat readiness during holidays” and urged forces to “stay vigilant and safeguard both national peace and the well-being of the people.”
