Trump Says US Army Objectives in Iran Approaching Completion
"Tonight, I'm pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are nearing completion," he said during a national address on Operation Epic Fury.
Trump highlighted that in the past four weeks, US forces have achieved "swift, decisive, overwhelming victories." He added, "I've made clear from the beginning of Operation Epic Fury that we will continue until our objectives are fully achieved. Thanks to the progress we've made, I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America's military objectives shortly, very shortly. We're going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We're going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong."
Regional tensions have intensified since February 28, when the US and Israel launched a joint offensive against Iran, resulting in more than 1,340 deaths, including the former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
Trump also paid tribute to American personnel lost during the operation, stating, "Now, we must honor them by completing the mission for which they gave their lives," referring to the 13 US service members killed and roughly 303 others injured since the campaign began.
