Israeli Air Force Technicians Accused of Running Iranian Spy Operation
Israel's state broadcaster identified the suspects as active members of the Israeli Air Force, where they worked as F-15 technicians stationed at Tel Nof Airbase near Ashdod.
The pair stand accused of "assisting the enemy during wartime" — with one of the two potentially confronting charges that rise to the level of treason, the report indicated. Beyond the two primary suspects, eight additional soldiers stationed at the same base are currently under investigation on suspicion of having withheld knowledge of the alleged activities without reporting them to authorities.
The suspects were reportedly tasked with gathering intelligence on National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and former Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, according to the report.
Their alleged conduct extended further into classified territory: the two technicians are also accused of handing over sensitive documents containing engine schematics of Israeli military aircraft, as well as a photograph of a flight instructor — a disclosure that raises serious concerns about the depth of the alleged breach and its potential operational consequences for Israel's air capabilities.
