Kuwait Set to Enhance Air Defense Capabilities
According to an official statement, "The estimated total cost is $1.98 billion." The proposed package encompasses a wide range of advanced defense assets, including Roadrunner-Munition and Anvil-Kinetic counter-drone platforms, launch containers, lattice command-and-control networks, long-range and maritime sentry towers, pulsar electromagnetic warfare systems, tactical operations centers, as well as various support services and supplementary equipment.
Officials stated that "The proposed sale will improve Kuwait's capability to meet current and future threats by providing electronic and kinetic defeat capabilities against unmanned aerial systems." The acquisition is intended to strengthen Kuwait’s defensive readiness and enhance its ability to counter evolving aerial security challenges.
The statement further emphasized that the agreement aligns with Washington’s foreign policy and national security priorities by reinforcing a key non-NATO partner. It noted that Kuwait has been "an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East," highlighting the country's longstanding role in promoting regional security and development.
