Zelensky imposes sanctions on individuals, firms linked to Russia’s army
The decree implements a decision by the National Security and Defense Council, with most of those targeted being Russian citizens and residents.
“These are individuals and companies linked to servicing Russia’s state defense order and to the activities of its military-industrial complex,” the statement said. It added that the sanctioned entities include firms and executives producing and supplying communications, electronic warfare, and microelectronics equipment for Russia’s defense and security agencies.
The sanctions also extend to industrial enterprises in Russia’s chemical, extractive, and metallurgical sectors, as well as in the fuel and energy industries.
Ukraine emphasized that it will continue coordinating with international partners to align its sanctions measures across “partner jurisdictions.” Some of the individuals and entities listed are expected to be included in the European Union’s upcoming 20th sanctions package.
