Sudan Authorities Report Drone Strikes on El-Obeid Civilian Sites
“Targeting civilian, educational and sports facilities constitutes a blatant attack on citizens and their resources and a violation of international humanitarian law,” the state government said in a statement.
According to the authorities, the locations hit included the sports city and the privately run Shikan University College.
No deaths, injuries or property damage were reported following the alleged strikes.
The state government urged the international community as well as human rights and humanitarian organizations to denounce the alleged attacks on civilian sites, work to protect civilians, document reported violations and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
The RSF did not immediately issue a response to the allegations.
The UN said last month that drone attacks in Sudan killed 1,100 civilians between January and June.
North, West and South Kordofan have experienced fighting between Sudan’s army and the RSF since Oct. 25, 2025.
Sudan has remained locked in conflict between the army and the RSF since April 2023. The war has killed tens of thousands of people and forced around 13 million others from their homes, according to UN and international estimates.
