ACC Employees Selected for Emerging Contract Leaders Seminar

Five mid-career contracting professionals from the U.S. Army Contracting Command, who exemplify Army values and have made significant contributions within their units and centers, have been selected to represent the Army at the Emerging Contract Leaders Seminar in November 2026, sponsored by the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Procurement).
The seminar will be held at the Warfighting Acquisition University (WarU) on the Ft. Belvoir Campus on November 17-20.
The ACC selected students for this iteration are: Jason Kenlan (ACC-Rock Island), Jessica Bailif (ACC-Detroit Arsenal), Kelly Griffith Miller (ACC-Aberdeen Proving Ground), Megan Abbott (419th Contracting Support Brigade), and Michael Metje (ACC-Redstone Arsenal).
This initiative, led by the Principal Director, Defense Pricing, Contracting, and Acquisition Policy, is meant to inspire future contracting leaders by providing a strategic view of the Army acquisition enterprise.

The course is structured around a progression from policy and transformation to application and leadership, exploring emerging acquisition priorities and reforms, super intelligence and other enabling technologies, evolving acquisition practices, and the leadership challenges associated with implementing change.
Through senior-leader perspectives, expert discussions, demonstrations, practical exercises, and peer engagement, participants examine how policy and innovation translate into acquisition outcomes while developing the professional judgment, adaptability, and leadership mindset needed to lead the workforce and advance the acquisition mission.
This seminar had two previous successful offerings in June 2025 and April 2026, with 16 students total from the Army contracting field participating. ODASA(P) covers travel costs for the students to attend the seminar and provides overall course information.
